Films on Demand

On Demand users can embed a Flash video player for all titles and segments into an HTML page, LMS or course website. The videos can be accessed from anywhere within your institution's authentication range.

If the video is viewed from off-campus or if you are not using IP authentication, users will be prompted to enter a username and password in order to view the embedded video. This allows for enhanced viewing flexibility, while maintaining a secure environment for the content.

The authenticated embed code can be accessed by clicking on the Embed This Video button on every View Video page. Simply copy the code and paste it into the desired HTML environment and the film will display.

For assistance using the embed code, please contact visit Faculty Development Center webpage or email the FDC directly at uma-fdc@maine.edu

Digital Campus (Swank Motion Pictures)

For major motion pictures and feature-length documentaries that are not available as streaming videos, Off-Campus Library Services provides access to thousands of videos via a pay-per-use service called Swank/Digital Campus.  To browse their collection, use the catalog online. (Or cut and paste the following URL into your browser: http://digitalcampus.swankmp.com/)

Once you have located the film you would like, email cynthia.c.young@maine.edu with your course name, semester, and film title.

Internet sites

Like the Digital Campus, users wishing to share content from the list of Internet Sites (tab upper left) should simply copy and paste a link to the content into their Brightspace page.  Librarians suggest adding links directly into weekly assignment areas in Brightspace, rather than creating streaming content areas in isolation.
