A guide for URSUS library patrons regarding copyright laws

Welcome

The URSUS libraries, comprised of all seven University of Maine System libraries as well as the Bangor Public, Portland Public, Maine State and Legal Legislative libraries, have created this guide to offer contact information, preliminary instructions and guidance on the uses of copywritten material within our communities, both public and academic.

While the information on this site cannot be construed as legal advice, we hope that it does offer value in assessing and navigating the sometimes confusing legal implications of using copyright material in the 21st century.
