Maine Archives & Museums is the only professional association representing museums, archives, historical societies and other collecting institutions in the State of Maine.

New England Archivists is a regional organization of people who organize, describe, preserve, and provide access to historical records in a variety of formats. It offers educational opportunities and provides venues for professional and volunteer archivists to gather and share experiences with colleagues.

Founded in 1936, the Society of American Archivists is North America's oldest and largest national archival professional association. SAA's mission is to serve the educational and informational needs of more than 5,000 individual and institutional members and to provide leadership to ensure the identification, preservation, and use of records of historical value.

The Academy of Certified Archivists is an American independent, nonprofit organization of professional archivists founded in 1989
